OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS using
Diamond Blades for cutting with High Speed Hand Held Saws
Before using the Ductile Diamond blades, the operator at full
speed, must first run the blades 1/4" to 1/2" deep in a section of cured
concrete or asphalt for about 2' to 3' feet or cut several 1/2" slices off a
lightweight concrete block. This process serves to expose & dress the diamonds
for cutting case hardened material. Failure to run this blade in concrete or
asphalt first, may cause the leading edge to some diamond segments to chip or
break away or cause the blade not to cut. A fragmented segment will not hinder
the blade performance, but may reduce the blade's longevity.
To start the cut on "DUCTILE - CAST IRON PIPE", the
operator should run the saw at about 50% RPM to score the pipe at least
2" to 3". This reduces the bouncing that is experienced from the blade making
first contact with the pipe at maximum speed.
Once the pipe is scored, the operator must lift the saw blade off
the pipe before starting the full cut. Once the saw is running at it's
maximum RPM, the operator can then begin cutting the pipe.
If the operator needs to change positions, always withdraw the
saw from the cut at maximum RPM. Never slow down the speed of the saw while the
blade is below the surface of anything that you are cutting.
When using a diamond blade on any hand held saw, (Stihl, Partner,
etc.), the operator must run the saw at maximum speed after scoring. If the
operator does not run the saw at maximum RPM, the diamond segments will
get hung up on the leading edge of the pipe cut, which will cause the blades
segment to fracture. The result is a chipped segment that will decrease the
life of the blade.
In the event that the blade seems not to be cutting fast enough,
simply run the blade 1/4" to 1/2" deep in a section of cured concrete or asphalt
for about 2' to 3' feet or cut off a few 1/2" slices of a concrete block. This
will dress the blade for optimum performance.
When cutting cured concrete with High Speed blades:
LS10TSGPW125
T-Seg,
LS10HSPCC or
asphalt with
LS10HSPAS,
always run the saw
at maximum RPM.
When used properly, Diamond blades will not only outlast
abrasive disks 80 -100 to 1, they are 100% safer, same time on
blade changes, and will also cut faster with straight, clean cuts. |
